Speaking Out

Oct 15, 2007 01:05

I’m working on being less of a coward and starting to speak out more on controversial issues affecting PWDs. So I commented on this article, it’s just an edited down version of my earlier post on the subject, but it’s the first time I’ve commented about this sort of thing on a public forum that is read by a lot of ABs.

links, abuse, disability

I'm glad you commented. This whole thing freaks me out. You were very eloquent...

Heh. I liked your comment, you're a good writer. And I love the comments people made on how people like you(ie you the disability rights advocate, not you the woman with CP)) could not possibly know all the details of the case...*rolls eyes*

Which is all the more reason to speak out - the more often they have to be confronted by people who really do know what they're talking about, the sooner it will get through.

BTW, it occurs to me that I am learning so much more about stuff from you. Things I would never have really thought about. I would have continued to hold views about others that a person can only hold when those people are silent.

This is not very eloquent on account of me not having quite made it through my first cup of tea, but thankyou, you're a damn fine woman.
