honestly, I think Claire is Bella's true love. They both cry and whine way too much. I'm pretty sure Edward would be Monica's bitch.

the thing about this book was that the humans were actually more scary than the vampires.

Humans are a pretty scary lot. If you've ever read the earlier Anita Blake books, the Edward in them (A human bounty hunter) gives the vampires and the werewolves a run for their money for Scariest monster of all. He's the bestest Edward of all. (Or definitely in the top 10 Edwards, at least.)

Clair and Bella and Edward and Monica could have a double wedding.

I usually do that right before I head to my library so that I can get a general idea of what I want to read. I still come home with stacks of books anyway.

I like this series, but haven't read the last few books. Although I did read a recent short story set in this universe and couldn't make my brain turn off Supernatural.

I could live with all the defects you mention--what I couldn't get past was how boring this book was. There was just nothing interesting about it; no notable characters, no suspense, nothing happening. It was just a big bore.

it was such a task to get through the first few chapters and I kept waiting and waiting for something to happen that was interesting. too bad the book is as boring as sin because I did really like the concept.
