I love how tumblr's reaction seems to be "This has horrible implications about slut-shaming, appropriate BDSM relations, and gender politics. And also I could totally find better BDSM porn than this with five minutes on the Avengers kink meme."

Everything I could say about it I am saying about it over at das_sporking. Ket Makura and I are critiquing it chapter by chapter. (Five chapters have been posted, but six more are in the queue ( ... )

If it wasn't published as a romance then I wouldn't be annoyed but people actually think love is suppose to be like this. Idiots. PURE IDIOTS. It's entertaining me though as a I read it.

Unfortunately, while not a picture of a healthy BDSM relationship, it is the reality of many. I have a post I wrote about it. The BDSM community has a very strong "it doesn't happen here" mentality, which is sadly, not the case.

You're right. Ket was in the lifestyle for a while (one of the reasons I'm sporking with her) and she has already mentioned numerous times in the sporkings that there are quite a few predators who prey on inexperienced people (usually young women) and get them into relationships where they can pass off the abuse as consensual BDSM ( ... )

It really does show. It has all the abusive undertones of Twilight ramped up with the added consent issues and supposed BDSM that really is everything that the BDSM community frowns on.

Not only does this book give the wrong impression of BDSM, equating it with rape and abuse and power-hungry doms who don't actually care what the other person wants, but it also gives the impression that these things are actually healthy.
