I'm a little amused that you've read THREE Joy Fielding books. I was stupid enough to pay for one on my Kindle ("Still Life"), and it was one of the worst books I've ever read where the author at least could string a sentence together.
Oh well here's the reason for that stupidity: I read Whispers and Lies in 2004 and while the main character was annoying, it turned out she was supposed to be annoying and the twist was, I hate to admit, pretty damn good.
So I read a second one, can't remember the name, and it was awful.
However, I figured every author's entitled to a flop, so why not try another one? I got it with credit at a used book store, though; I would not pay for a Joy Fielding book ever. And now I shall never read another one. I guess the one with the good twist was a fluke! ;)
