I think I tried reading this one, but ended up stopping after 50 or so pages in.

I HATED this book. I could not like Quentin as a character, at all. In fact, I found pretty much every character utterly unlikeable. And the Fillory/Narnia rip off was annoying as well.

It was supposed to be a sort of parody/reinterpretation of Harry Potter and Narnia. It could have been a very original, very insightful book, if only it were well-written.

I did not like this book either (though I felt a little bad that the author actually found my review "harrowing").

I thought your review was spot on (and find it hard to believe he's an HP fan, but...*shrug*). This might be my least favorite book ever.

I got this book for less than a dollar in march/april , and i didn't even finish it.
I planned on finishing it , but now this review got me out again.
