Rant away. My daughter is in the age group this book (and other, failbooks) target, so it's good to have a heads up.

Shoot me and yell at me but despite everything you mentioned, I liked it. I think the pretty cover was something to do with it. I DID notice things thanks to the sparkle project's checklist of sparkle fail, but I took it as a fluff book and didn't really emotionally invest into it.

Sometimes books should be enjoyed for how dumb they are, too.

Why would I yell at you? I know we have our preferences. :) Shooting you, maybe, but in that case I'd just wind up with a big hole in my monitor so I'd better not!
