Since the year's about three quarters of the way through (personally I'd like to know where my summer's gone, but anyway), I wondered about the bookfails people are ending up with. So: poll.

I tried to finish Dawn Cook's The Decoy Princess but it was so bad I couldn't.

Oh dear, how could I forget to add Diana Wynne Jones to my list of favorite authors?! (also misspelled Dostoevsky, but that's what I get for spelling from memory)

Yeah but anyway. I seem to have been reading a lot of 'meh' books instead of fail books lately. Where they're good and all and I enjoy reading them, but once I'm done with them I'm totally okay with never reading them again.

You didn't like Dostoyevsky? *gasp* (And, eh, his name's a translation anyway.)

Yes. I read books that aren't terribly bad, but they're just whatever. There ought to be a community for that. XD

I might have liked his writing, but we read 'Notes From The Underground' in my English class in 10th or 11th grade. Not a single person in my class liked him after that, and I have been turned enough away from his writings by the experience that I have not been able to find any sort of motivation to read anything else of his.

Oh, yes, the required reading syndrome...that's too bad.
