Dropping in completely out of nowhere via "Friends of Friends" - which LJ is now needlessly tampering with! - to say that you're absolutely right. How Much for Just the Planet? was one of the best early Pocket-published Trek novels. Worth getting back when it was in print. Worth holding onto.
Hello! :D Yeah, I got my copy out of the library, but if I ever stumble across one in a used bookstore you can bet I'm grabbing it and not letting it out of my hands.
You do not know how much I adore this Star Trek novel. It is AMAZING. I was sent a copy when I was like 11 by a friend in Colorado and I LOVE IT. The dancing pirate queen! The flask on the cinema projector! The cat burglary! The poor salvage crew hiking about covered in peppermint milkshake! THE GIANT PIE FIGHT AT THE END! It is life.
This sounds like a book I seriously need in my library. And one for my BFF, too, whose life has taken seriousness to an all new level lately, and could use some screwball comedy in her life.
My first thought was, "I think I've read that book!" My second thought was, "Self, if you had read that book, you couldn't possibly have forgotten it."
