It does sound fascinating. I would love to read it one day when I have a lot of free time and appreciate it fully. I'd love to develop a full appreciation of the Amistad rebellion, away from the limited Hollywood treatment Spielberg gave the story.

Yeah, I haven't seen the film version and I . . . don't have a particular inclination to. Not that I don't trust Spielberg with some stories! But this one is not it.
