(also I agree with you. I love High School Debut, and all that, but you can't compare with Gokusen)

(VERY LITTLE can compare with the epic that is Gokusen. Fortunately they're not even in the same category technically, so they don't have to compete at all except in my head.)

Hahaha, I THINK the best thing for me about reading Gokusen is that all I had in the way of expectations was THE SUMMARY. I so very not prepared for how wonderful it would beee. High School Debut was also not what I was expecting, BUT IT IS NOT NEARLY AS original in its execution. (GOOD POINT. I totally just compared them in my head too, though)

Yeah, I had absolutely no idea how much delight I would get out of Gokusen! (ALL THE DELIGHT.) I had a pretty decent idea how much delight I would get out of High School Debut, from various reviews, but it still ended up being more addictive than I was expecting. DAMN YOU, SHOJO, sometimes I needed those weekends!

I - I think that the combination of Yankumi and Haruna in one place at one time might lead to ACTUAL COMBUSTION OF THE UNIVERSE but oh man -

asj;dkfkjdsbut actually since Haruna wants to be a teacher, what really needs to happen is Haruna being placed as a phys ed teacher AT SHIROKIN. Haruna as Yankumi's kohei! Tag-team delinquent inspiring! With a side order of CRIME FIGHTING! I need this fic right now.

(Yoh's face of anxious disapproval would be hilarious. Shin would just be like "LEARN TO DEAL. At least it didn't take you four years to get to date yours. :| :| :|")
