I was going to start this post 'my kryptonite is . . .' but to be honest, many things are my kryptonite. But AMONG the many things that are my kryptonite are female characters who aren't nice. For whom nice is just not important becuse they are too busy getting shit done.

Which is to say, innerbrat has been making me watch Press Gang the past two weeks ( Read more... )

Haha, yes, I was going to say. ANOTHER THING THAT IS MY KRYPTONITE: ladies who are the boss, dudes who know and love it.

(It is hilarious after they start dating too - which I've only seen a few episodes of, but so far he's like "we should talk about our ~feelings~!" and she is like "okay, we have exactly one minute for makeouts and then I have to leave, I'M ON A DEADLINE.")

It is filling me with so much joy! So much underhanded dealing FOR THE SAKE OF THE NEWS! SO MANY EVIL LITTLE GIRLS.

Fashionable like Claudia Kishi, perhaps.

*snickerfitz*

Hey, during my 'young enough to read Babysitter's Club phase, I totally wanted to dress like Claudia Kishi! Alack, alas, my mom was smart enough to only let me copy one outfit of hers- and after that I lost interest.

Ahahaha, I totally did dress like Claudia Kishi at one very low point in my life. Fortunately I rapidly outgrew the sixth-grade phase where I thought pairing a lemon-yellow hoodie with white overalls covered in brightly colored fruit was the HEIGHT OF FASHION.

Actually, who DIDN'T have Claudia Kishi as a fashion role model as an elementary/middle schooler?

I feel sure there must be some lucky people out there who dodged that bullet . . .

I LOVE PRESS GANG, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. The keyword hint for my computer is "At last, a dragon!" even though it has nothing to do with the keyword, because: logical.

Lyndaaaaa. SO BOSSY AND RUDE AND MAGNIFICENT. I love that Spike saunters in all, yes, hello, I am Badd with two Ds at the end, and she as much as pushes him aside and tells him to be useful or get out of the way. She doesn't impress easily! She loves her friends fiercely but she's so bad at showing it! And if sometimes you must throw someone to the wolves in the name of journalism, so be it.

LOLOLOL THE HEARTS ON SPIKE'S EYES. YES. I think actually the thing I found funniest about his VERY AMERICAN AMERICANNESS is the conflicting sports pennants in his bedroom. Like, he's got a Yankees pennant and he's very rah rah I'm from New Yawk, New Yawk is the best, and over here I have a poster of a team from Chicago and over there a pennant from a college in Georgia. What? AMERICA.

Hahahahaha Mem, I did not know you had seen it, BUT I AM SO NOT SHOCKED THAT YOU LOVE IT. (Also, some things are just awesome enough to be the keywords for ANYTHING.)

I love Lynda so much already I don't even know how I'm going to be able to cope with three more seasons. HOW DOES SHE OWN EVERYONE SO MUCH. I just love how literally from the moment Lynda walks in Spike is like "um I love you, MARRY ME - wait no, I am totally cool, QUICK WHERE ARE MY SUNGLASSES OF FLIRTING." HE KNOWS WHAT IS UP.

(Also aaaah the last episode I saw last night was the Very Special Colin Two-Parter and, aside from all the other heartbreak in those episodes, I just wanted to hug Lynda forever and ever. She understands what it's like to be an obsessive, okay.)

HAHAHA I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THAT BUT NOW I WON'T BE ABLE TO FORGET. OH SPIKE, FOREVER THE MOST PLAUSIBLE AMERICAN EVER.
