This brought such a smile to my face. Those two are so wrapped up in their careful self-denial, it's heartwarming to see them like this... allowing themselves some happiness. And I can see it happen just like this. Feels so right.

Hee, thank you! It is no secret that I am ridiculously invested in Mustang and Hawkeye being ENORMOUS DORKS who are incapable of talking to each other in secret code without flirting, and also vice versa - I am very glad these worked for you. :D

The Sun Sword is actually not a show - it's a book series that does a lot of fascinating stuff with gender roles and subtle forms of power, which is why elspeth_vimes requested it crossed over, and which I completely mangled in trying to capture. But I would recommend the books! (My secret agenda in writing crossovers: it's a whole new and exciting way to pimp out new canons.)
