The Book: Obvious.

The Banhammer: Given reasons that the book was banned or challenged. I'll be taking these from ala.org wherever possible, and will cite any other sources.

wants to remove from collection to ward off complaints
My boss did this preemptively and removed it from the purchasing list for exactly this reason.

(I'm still mad.)

Ugh, yes, I'm so sorry. I'd be hella mad too, because, um, dude, we are librarians. Our JOB is to provide free access to information regardless of possible complaints. Just. Ew.

I want to buy a bazillion copies and hide them in libraries where the good staff want them and the powers that be are the problem, so hopefully they will survive or at least be ganked (with approval) by kids who need them before they get smote.

Or um, see if our library has it and gift it if possible. That's a bit more possible. Alas for my lack of money tree and secret network of rebellious librarians.

Right?? Augh. Someday there will be a secret network of rebellious librarians providing access to the Forbidden Books.

Or, y'know, passive-aggressively displaying them in our New Books area. That's more our library's speed.
