I love the way you portray Arthur's feelings towards Gwain -- that he sees Gwain as a potential threat but that he puts up with him being there anyway for Merlin's sake! I also love that Arthur knows about Merlin's powers here, because, really... How many times has Merlin used magic around Arthur? And he never notices? LOL!
And I see the second person POV as a bonus! I so rarely see fics (or anything, really) written in that POV, and while it did take some getting used to when I first started reading this, it made it all the more interesting to read and added a sort of 'uniqueness' to it.
Hah, actually, I'm fairly sure the writers do want you to believe that Arthur really is that stupid, in the same way they seem to want us to believe that Morgana grinning evilly 24/7 makes perfect sense. Even when she's having dinner with Uther and when people are watching her. -.- Though maybe everyone in Camelot is just in denial when it comes to both those things. XD
Oh, I love how jealous Arthur is of Gwain and yet still he sees him as someone that could protect Merlin if he wasn't around. I love that he and Gwain are really bonding over Merlin. Well done.

Heh, I really think this sums up how Arthur feels about Gwaine (and really, any other guy that comes along and succeeds in getting Merlin's attention, like Lancelot) -- he doesn't entirely care for him, but knows that he cares about Merlin and knows that that is enough to be able to trust him at least a little. Heh, and the idea that Arthur dislikes sharing Merlin's attention is great -- because it's practically canon! Arthur almost throws a fit nearly every time Merlin's attention is even remotely diverted from him. Hee!
