Setting off the alarm

Aug 31, 2007 19:22

The little guy has an 8.00pm soccer game. (What fool schedules a soccer game for a bunch of 9 year olds at that time?) So we did the grocery shopping and came back to work for dinner and a play on the computer. I had visions of writing something for the several_ways challenge and the little guy wanted to beat his score on some weird internet game ( Read more... )

I hate fire alarms. Hate. Especially in our apartment.

We disconnected the battery to the one smoke alarm. Not because we are "carefree" or whatever but because every time we use the stove the alarm goes off. Old stove. Dirty old stove. So my man is cooking something one day and this horrible noise goes off. I'm searching all over to find the source of the noise and finally find it. Another smoke detector! Older than I am, you can be sure! Couldn't find any way of disabling the thing. And what was my man doing, you ask? Sitting at the computer without a care in the world. Damn earplugs. He hadn't heard a thing! *facepalm*

That's a pretty old smoke alarm! *jk*

But I know what you mean - mine goes off constantly because I have a gas water heater with a permanent open flame. *sigh*

Ha ha! It looks like it's from the 70s. I was born in 1980, lol! The thing has some sort of wire coming out of it, which I assume is it's power source. *shrugs*

*kicks our silly fire sources*

Also, I notice that things look different around here. As in VERY PRETTY! I love it!! *stares at the awesomeness*

Yeah, fire alarms suck.

But, dear, I must say that you're probably among only about a dozen people the world over who make their 9 year old go to bed by 8pm. I mean, I think it's a very good thing that you do, but my bet is that the rest of them aren't going to bed until 10 or 11. or later!

Good to hear that you are still attracting attention in the town though. ;)

Numerology? *giggles* I'd be interested to know if there was some?

Alarms are our curse at work - we have so many different ones it makes your head spin.

It sounds like you had an interesting evening. And by interesting, I mean hectic.

In the spring, Ashton had late T-ball practices, but only because it’s so freakin’ hot! 90 and 100 degree weather when it’s not winter. But yeah, I put mine down at 8 (they need the sleep or else all hell breaks loose) so I understand the inconvenience of late games.

Interesting and hectic is my life *sigh*. Sometimes I long for quiet boringness :)

And yeah the little guy needs 10 hours sleep to be a reasonable human the next day!!
