I really love this one. :O It's like one of those Just So Stories by Kipling, and even if it is a bit morbid around the edges, it's still really sweet. So maybe not *quite* what you want to read a small child (particularly if you read them Peter Rabbit or the Velveteen Rabbit first, ahahaha) but one a bit older, fer sure. :3
Yaaay! I'm glad you liked! I really don't know what got into my brain when I wrote this one. It was like midnight-something, and I just kept picturing a boy consulting with a rabbit skull. Kind of Jacobian, eh? XD Partially inspired my the mangled rabbit my cats left for me on the kitchen floor. Funny thing; originally, I had meant it to be a really grim story, possibly ending with the boy getting the Black Plague from hanging around a corpse the whole time. BUT I couldn't make it work, and my hand kept going on it's own until I got this instead~ Probably for the better? ^^;
HAAAAAHAH. I could just imagine some mother reading Peter Rabbit to her kids, and then telling them this one. Those kids would never stop making a mortified face. "PETER GOT EATED??" O_________O
I am SO GLAD my computer was agreeable enough to let me type this out and post it.
