How could a TV movie ever live up to the book? And will we ever get to see it in America?

Well, there have already been two adaptions (Hogfather and Colour of Magic/Light Fantastic) which have been - if not equally awesome to the originals - pretty awesome on their own right. So I have good hopes.

As for the America thing, the other two movies eventually aired in America albeit at a much later date. And then there's always the internet. And then there's the BBC iPlayer; yes, you can only watch shows on it if you have a UK IP address, but that's why proxies were invented.
