Abortion

Have you ever had someone openly suggested you an abortion?

This happened to me twice today, the first one was some random lj user in a community and the second one was a close family member.

Really it doesn't bother you?
Because I thought it wouldn't bother me but today I got really mad and I didn't expect it.

This person on LJ just said "hey, why don't you get an abortion?". Maybe context is important here and you prefaced it by saying that you will die during childbirth, or something.

To answer your question, I like to stay out of people's reproductive choices whether I personally agree with them or not. I'm just kind of awesome that way.

Not actually like that.
I was talking about my wedding plans and how this unexpected pregnancy kind of screwed with that and this person said something like "if you don't want to be pregnant, there ar eoptions, you know"

oh, well, DUH, clearly they were talking about time travel.

Let's be optimistic here.

Not me, but I was present when my friend and her boyfriend told his mother she was pregnant. His mother's immediate response was "When will you be having an abortion so I know when to get the money out of the bank". She then tried to take custody after the baby was born.

What? Was there any reason for her to act that way?
If my mother pulled something like that she'd be out of my life.

Apparently my friend wasn't good enough for her special little snowflakey son or something. There was no grounds for her to try and take custody, she seemed to just have an intense hatred of my friend.

Yes when we found out my son had a two vessel cord and had the possibility of downs, cystic and a few other genetic "abnormalities". Despite all the issues I had while being pregnant, during delivery and the NICU I wouldn't have done a thing differently. My son is a happy, and healthy who with the exception of an audio sensory disorder 3 1/2 year old. I had someone suggest that if I ever to accidentally get pregnant I should abort so I don't have to go through that again.

My former planned-to-be father of my child told me that if testing showed a likely non-genetically 'ideal' child that he'd pressure to me to abort. I promptly told him not to worry, because I wouldn't be carrying his child with an attitude like that.
