Should there be laws in place to prevent women with large families from having more children? I think having six kids and wanting 8 more is a sign of mental illness and I don't think modern medicine should be aiding her. What do you think ( Read more... )

If a woman can care for all of them, good for her. There shouldn't be a law in place.

I think have 6 kids and wanting 8 more AT ONCE is crazy as fuck.

My great-aunt had 23 kids (no joke) but she was crazy as fuck herself and they were all raised like barn animals.

No seriously, the whole village knew them and no one was happy when they came to visit because they had absolutely no idea how to behave like human beings. I think like 4 died in infancy (the other kids probably ate them or something) and a few live here in America now and have their own families, and they're crazy fucks, too. But all are very fertile. Apparently in many cases, insanity is linked to fertility. :P

So you think they should have the right, but you think it's insane and your one experience with it shows it to be so. But you think they should.

That kind of falls under "keep your laws off my body" so no, I don't think there should be a law. But ethically, I think the doctor should have refused to give her fertility medication.

So you think what she did is morally wrong, you just object to laws based on morals.

Personally, yeah I think it's wrong. People don't have litters of babies for a reason.

A woman should be able to have as many as she can care for.

So there should be a law banning her from fertility treatments if she's on welfare?

That's a tricky question for me because I believe that too many people feel too entitled to help. I don't think there should be a law banning her from fertility, but I don't think she should receive extra welfare or benefits for that child.

Well with 8 you don't need welfare, you can go on Oprah.

"Laws are the wrong path, we should take her to court!" I know what you mean though. Asking if there should be laws makes people go all BIG BROTHER BAD on me and totally miss the underlining question of if they believe she's doing something wrong or harmful.

Article? Are you concerned about more republicans being spawned or something?

The worse part was the word Republicans was in the link and I still didn't realize that was the article I was bitching about last night and not the one I read today.
