Learning about Murder

A teacher in Montreal showed the video 1 Man 1 Icepick to a class of 10th Graders. If you haven't heard of it, it shows the real life murder, dismemberment, mutilation, and necrophilia of the lover of a man suspected to be Luka Magnotta.

1) Do canadians say "for sure"? like, is that their thing?
2) hell no this shouldn't have been shown to children. This teacher is supposed to be an adult and should know that 1) this would cause a shit storm, does he want to get fired? and 2) there is absolutely no need to watch this. at all.

I deal with victims of crimes all the time and I can't imagine that to help them I should have to observe the trauma they endure. So if I, as a helping professional and adult, don't need to watch this why the hell would a child have to? Not even touching the fact that observing trauma DOES effect people.

1) I believe we are known for ending our sentences with "eh?"

2) Suspended immediately, and has "expressed regret". Likely they will follow through with firing or forced resignation.

lol yeah "eh" is world renowned but the girl said for sure in two sentences so I thought maybe it's the canadian version of american's "best XYZ ever!" lol

I can't even feel bad for the guy. Seriously, so stupid.

Oh haha, I haven't been a teen in forever and my kids are too young to be trendy, so I have no idea what the kids are up to... except watching murder snuff films I guess...

Jesus Christ! No one should be able to see that. I mean, I think the guy being murdered should be allowed to see it (I'm serious), but, that's it. A person's death, let alone murder, should not be viewed by anybody unless the person somehow consents. It just seems to personal too me.

I also think it was completely inappropriate for a teacher to show his students. I can see no legitimate reason to show it to the class.

I agree with you here. The guy being murdered has already suffered enough, and now it's being shown for entertainment and supposedly some sort of "educational" value now? I can't believe it's still on the internet. These people hosting the video have no decency.

I know he's dead and all. I just think that he's the only person who should have any right to it, right to view it. Does that make sense? It's something that happened/was done to him. So, I'd be fine if he wanted to see it.
