I keep hearing about Persona 4 from strange sources. Is it any good as a game? At first, I thought it was an RPG. Then, after reading more about it, I just got confused.
Wow, Psychox, you alive? I don't think I heard anything from you since posted that manwich of conservative assholes a good while back.. I was kind of wondering where you went after that.
Persona 4 has most of the elements you'd expect from a regular rpg, so I wouldn't say you're off to classify it as one. What mostly sets it apart is that the game places as much (perhaps even more) emphasis on the everyday life of the protagonist as he spends his days as a high school student in some rural Japanese town. The strategic goal here is to let him build up relationships with people, which provide certain stat boosts to the pokemon persona he uses for fighting in the dungeon-parts of the game

I'm glad you still got internet. Before it seemed like you needed your blog to ventilate anger regularly, so I thought maybe you had been forced to sacrifice the internet for the sake of some food on your plate. I did doubt whether in your case the latter would take priority over internet access though.
Persona 4 is the kind of game that has a lot of elements that make it spread easily when mentioned to friends, e.g. dubious homophobia, a horny nurse, a penis monster etc. If nothing else, I think it would provide a wide range of fun material to talk about if you'd actually buy it.
Just so P4 wouldn't end up dying on your shelve, keep in mind the game does take it's sweet time to fully kick in. The first four hours or so are extremely linear. Only after all that it becomes quite the opposite.

"a talking bear suit and a delinquent bad-ass guy who's in denial of his sexuality."
I only need one of those things to buy a game, but now I've got two. Score. This could be a good way to use that gift card a friend gave me.
