holidaze and good cheer

Well, we had a good holiday, Abbie and I.  As is traditional, I planned for about 600 cookies, overbooked myself, and have only made about 350 to date.  I have one more batch to go to finish Christmas cards and gifts.  Then I need to send thank-you notes, and Christmas will be done.
My yearly Christmas Season begins with Christmas Revel... )

Happy new year, boog!

Your holidays sound really good! Lots of fun, lots of friends, a nice stay with the fam, good times. I kind of gawked at the stumpwork link, because OMG how the hell do people actually do that? Some day when I've whittled my hobbies down to a manageable level I'd love to learn how to sew... something, anything. But maybe also learn something crafty, like cross-stitch. SOME DAY.

On my last road trip I passed a turkey vulture eating a road kill deer. Those kind of things better not be omens. :)

You still didn't see American Dragons? Do you have a VHS player? ! I can give you a digital copy, you know. You have a dropbox?

cross-stitch is easy, and there are several beginner kits available so you can get a taste without spending a ton. sewing on the other hand... eludes me. hence why i *buy* SCA garb, hah.

regarding American Dragons, I'd forgotten Mom and Dad didn't have a VHS player up there anymore. I have my own VHS player, but the current tv it's on won't read from it. although actually, the old one probably will... and i like the picture on the old one anyway.

don't fret over sending me a file - i'm usually so busy i wouldn't get to it for a while anyways. but maybe when i'm finished putting the guest bedroom back together or the office together i can watch it...

*hugs van*

I used to belong to the SCA, it was fun! i also used to live in a crummy little place with no hot water, that was not fun. I had to boil water on the stove to do dishes.
