I didn't really want to spew about this until it became more public, but it looks like someone inside the organization sent the internal memo to the Herald. As such, read:

Someone mentioned an article in someone's business section about the changes. I asked if they used the words "Coup d'Etat" anywhere in the piece.

When I think of collaboration between Boston.com and the Boston Globe, I think of things like this http://marketplaces.boston.com/rs6/cl.asp?action=sfs , which seems positioned more to prop up someone's declining print classified advertising revenue rather than to stake a claim in the online advertising market.

The thing that astounds me is, B.com is MAKING MONEY. The Globe is hemorrhaging it. I can only see Globe stewardship as affecting profits negatively in the long run...
