About the "interesting" thing - I have to give year-end speeches about each of the water polo players I coach, and there was this one girl who was very interesting. During the speech I said, "xx is a very interesting person" and everyone laughed like it was an insult! I actually had to justify using the adjective!

I am also reminded of the curse at the end of "300". The traitor Ephialtes begs Leonidas to surrender. Leonidas quips back "may you live forever" (the ultimate Spartan insult, as they wish to die in battle). The curse of having a long life is also common in vampire lore/mythology. Interesting...
