I like to think I'm a nice girl, really. I'm generally patient, nice, and understanding.

But I've come to a decision.

I'm really, really tired of politely answering the same goddamned questions over and over and overI understand that dancing is something most people have had no real contact with or understanding of. I get that. That's ( Read more... )

What do you think of the recent trendiness of stripping-themed workout books/videos/classes? Have they led to more amateurs thinking they can do your job better than you? If you've actually read/watched any of them, do you think they're actually any good?

Honestly? I think it's just a way for people to charge more for basic cardio =P And yeah, some women do labor under the delusion that one Carmen Electra 'striptease' video makes them the bestest strippar evar!!!1

I have watched several of the videos and researched the classes. They are an excellent source of exercise, packaged differently to appeal to those bored with traditional exercise, and I do support that. Not enough people do enough these days to stay healthy :(

No questions. Just wanted to say I LOVE your blog. One of the more entertaining out there. I babysat for a dancer when I was in high school, and to think she had to put up with this type of behavior...geez.

Reading your journal has both opened my mind to just how fun dancing can be, as well as made me laugh more than a few times in the morning. You make me want to give it a try. :D

It never freaks me out :) I just chalk it up to generosity and thank the customer profusely. I could see it freaking out a girl because most of the time, if a guy tips like that, it's because he wants something other than dancing.

And thank you ^.^ I'm happy to share.

I have been reading this journal for awhile because you write really well and I have had friends in the industry. I am just shocked and amazed at what people assume when they hear about particular occupation and go an make judgments. Do what you love is what I think, and if you love it, be damn the rest of the world! So keep writing!
