I'm not sure where you want to go to with it but is almost has a "Man in the Iron Mask" flare. Of course in the those days I guess there was a lot of trying to kill those that were supposed to be on the throne so they could take it for themselves. Jensen would certainly be well placed to be Jared's consort (secretly or openly) if he helped Jared reassume the throne.

I actually haven't seen that movie but I definitely was thinking along a "palace intrigue" angle - different factions fighting for power, in a pseudo-medieval kind of setting. It'd be interesting to take it to a darker place, rather than Disney or Princess Bride-esque, but it'd be harder to write as well.
