The weather has started to get really nice here this week. The temperature still rises into the mid-80s, but it's been breezier, and the evenings are especially comfortable. For about two weeks now there has been a pair of white women's underwear on the fence post near where I park my car. I first noticed them on the ground, but soon after our landlord showed the adjacent house to a perspective renter they drifted to their present location. Since May, my parents' kitchen has been undergoing remodeling: new cabinets, floor, microwave, oven, sink, table -- everything except a dishwasher, which they've removed and replaced with extra storage space. Two days ago, during a poets versus fiction writers softball game, I nailed a line drive to left field (you could say I Ezra Pounded it), only to have Carrie Brownstein of Sleater Kinney rob me by flailing and having the ball hit the good part of her glove.
