Earthquake and tsunami

So, there was quite a big earthquake last night, 7.8 on the Richter scale, but it was in such an isolated location off the South coast of Fiordland that it may have inconvenienced a few kea, but so far no reports of damage from nearby towns

Boy am I glad a quake of that size didn't strike in a populated area. The worst I've ever been in was the 7.0 in 1989, and that was quite bad enough, thankyouverymuch!

Did you feel it where you are?

Heard a funny noise in the house as if someone was walking around, about the right time, but didn't feel anything.
