We Need a Screening for Stupidity as Part of Those Background Checks

Columbia, SC. Police say a woman was injured while cooking in her friend's kitchen after at least one round of .45 caliber ammunition exploded from within the oven.

I'm only linking this to show my source. Video shows the outside of the house where this happened. Not too exciting. stupid people are stupid, gun control, safety

A tragic accident but no reason for any further gun control actions. After all, if the oven wasn't armed it would be at the mercy of some murderous drug crazed appliance. I mean seriously, do you know what that the fridge is packing in the veggie crisper? Take the .45 out of the oven and you just might come home to find it's had its face eaten off by a bathtube full of bath salts.

Do you want that on your conscience? Do you?

So true. Fridge criminals are going to get weapons no matter what, so why try to discourage it? Might as well just leave the oven door wide open, too.

Exactly! If we take away an oven's right to have a big scary gun we're telling the other appliances that it's perfectly all right to pull the poor oven's door open and legitimately baste their turkey like the godless debased heathens they are. After all the only thing that stops a toaster with an AK-47 is a coffee maker with an RPG-7 and the will to use it.

Ok, I'm going to stop now because this is just getting to be too much fun and I don't really want to trivialize the issue at hand. I hope it was good for a chuckle or two.

Well, this debate does give new meaning to the concept of bringing a (paring?) knife to a gun fight.
