Ooooh, yes, that is based on real conversations.

It's always the students who don't do their work who come to you when grades are due and start pestering you about what they're getting in your class. Never mind if you've been posting their updated grades each week, or if you gave them chances to make up work.

They want to make up all their work at the very end of the term. And...they nearly always ask if they can do extra credit to bring up their grades.

The entitlement attitude is apalling, but how a teacher gets through a conversation like this without laughing is a mystery.

Yes, College is a time when life management starts to really blind-side you, but there is no excuse for expecting this sort of last-minute Hail-Mary, and from the TEACHER no less.
