japanese rap?

I suppose one could argue that this is not actually considered rap, but putting that aside-- I wonder why Japanese or even Chinese rap sounds so much more pleasant than American rap does ( Read more... )

I've come to believe it's because Asian rap isn't about smacking your bitch up, or passing the Courvoisier. And if it really is, my meager knowledge of the language wouldn't pick up on it anyway. :Dv

Yeah, it really isn't. Although, this morning I thought of Koki and his infamous cartoon KAT-TUN II You song, and that one kind of is... so maybe it depends. XD

Soulja has been performing in Japanese clubs for several years, but this is his first big hit. He wrote the lyrics and the music and his new album, Spirits, will be out soon. He is half Belgian and speaks Japanese and English fluently. Plus a little French and Dutch. Thelma Aoyama, who sings with him, is a part Japanese and part Trinidadian.
