I want these books!!! I need to make my booklist for last year and list all the ones I read on the boat still, but goal of the next week is to see how many of these I can find at a used bookstore.

I'm waiting for the Junot book to go down in price. $15, my ass. That said, I think he's fantastic, and I recommend "Drown." Maybe you're a short story kind of person? I know I am. And I think he's better at shorts than long novels (good at both, but you know what I mean).

If you want, I can mail you my paperback copy of Me Talk Pretty... lemme know! I can also send you Chuck Palahniuk. I think his old stuff is better than his new stuff.

I CAN'T GET THROUGH OSCAR WAO. I READ LIKE 1/3 AT THE BEST TIME AND... stopped. I am going to try again.

I read Choke on the boat and loved Palahniuk's style! What should I look for next?

I'm leaving for Japan on Thursday so I don't think they'll make it :(

Palahniuk... I liked Invisible Monsters and Diary, though most people don't like Diary. Something about female madness, maybe. I thought Lullaby sounded good, but I couldn't read it. I don't think I liked anything published after 2004.

I hear that this Neil Gaiman book is his best so far... However, I am completely biased, and also going to his book signing in Chicago........ >.>

Oddly, I have trouble with Junot Diaz. Mostly I just can't pay attention to it... (This is how you lose her) and I have no clue wtf is going on. THEN AGAIN I HAVE TROUBLE PAYING ATTENTION IN GENERAL T_T
