Ada was still half-asleep, but she could tell something was... off. She didn't feel well, or right, or... something.

She sleepily sat up, bringing up a hand to shove her hair out of her eyes, and--- wait. This wasn't right. This very much was not rightSorry, second floor. Sorry, dorms. Hopefully Ada's shout of (deeply unhappy) surprise didn ( Read more... )

After finding out about Isabela, Dante was clued into what was happening - and kinda wondering if anyone else he knew was dealing with it. Like, say, people with a history of having trouble with stuff about her body.

So Ada's door got a knock, too.

Ada froze at the knock.

"Uh, 'm sick. Ain't up for visitors right now," she tried from her hiding spot under her blankets, wincing as her voice came out a baritone.

That...probably wasn't gonna work, was it?

No, not really.

"Ades?" Dante called. "Is that you?"

Definitely did not work.

Ada whimpered and pulled the blanket closer. "Go 'way, Dante. I don't feel so good," she said, and that was even true. Being on the verge of a panic attack and total meltdown did not exactly feel good.

But it was Dante, and the odds of him going away if he didn't feel like it were pretty damn low, and Ada knew it. Wrapping the blanket around herself like armor, she (he?) padded to the door and opened it just a crack so she could peek out.

"What do you want?"

"Izzer a fire?" the pile of blankets across the room from Ada whined, in a somewhat deeper and scratchier voice than she normally heard from it.

Mornings weren't really Cosima's thing in any gender.

Ada yelped at the lower voice coming from Cosima's bed, and scrambled to pull the blankets as tight around herself as possible.

Wait.

"Uh, maybe?" she said, voice definitely lower than usual. "Definitely a maybe."

A fire of 'I will burn this island down once I stop freaking out.'

"You sound different, " Cosima observed, and finally emerged from the blankets with her hand to her throat. "...wait, I sound different."

Clearly, her scientific mind was keen even before coffee.

Ada immediately dove back under her piles of blankets, trying to hide from the reality. "Bad dream," she decided, trying to ignore everything. "We're having the same bad dream, maybe if we wake up again it'll go away."
