The book launch event was fantastic and incredibly well attended. The pace of poetry was relentless (40 readers in 2 hours!) and my own performance went well I'm told (I have not yet felt brave enough to watch the video pushkin666 oh so thoughtfully took...). YOU ARE AWESOME. And poetry comes and goes, with me at least. Don't worry. <3 I'm sure that Finland will provoke some poetry out of you.

I try :D I have ideas for both fic and poetry but putting them to words is a struggle, plus I just feel mentally exhausted a lot of the time... whine whine.

I know how you feel. When your brain's under pressure most of the time, it's just really hard to get the words out.

Something I've been trying for the past week is Morning Pages: writing around 3 (handwritten) pages in my diary every morning, just anything that comes to mind when I've just got up and am not coherent at all. Getting some sort of word-flow started immediately seems to be a pretty good thing, even though the stuff I write in the diary is obvs not anyhow deep or well-written. But it's words.

Perhaps you can try out something similar in the future? <3

Any chance we can get a copy of the video eventually? Fledge missed out because she was too busy taking photos, Marg would like to see the event and I'd just like to re-live it!

erm, I can email the vid to people who wanted it but don't think i can necessarily bear to post it here... of course i have to try to stomach watching it myself first...

Emailing will do nicely, though as you performed in public in the first place I'm not altogether sure what the problem is!! *g* You looked and sounded lovely and I think your f'list would enjoy the feeling of 'being there'.

The problem is that I can perform fine, I just prefer not to watch myself doing it. It's like if someone made me listen to my own lecture... *cringe*

Yes, I want to see the video:) and I'm looking forward to getting the book - which will hopefully be there when I get back from Brisbane, thanks to Moth:) I'm sure the Christmas break will bring back your inspiration!
