[Too many questions; she's trying to decide what to ask first. Plagues? Egypt? Those are the names of their months?]

[Finally settles on deciding she really doesn't like the sound of that April 13th one.]

Those are all curses you've been through?!

What is wrong with those deities?

[OOC: Also, this might end up just being a placeholder for now since I'll soon be off to work.]

Well, these are some of the curses we've been exposed to recently, yes. This list is still incomplete. There's a curse approximately every second or third day, and sometimes they last for 48 hours instead of the more regular 24. And it is my understanding the deities enjoy inflicting as much misery and confusion upon the citizens as possible.

You're new to the City, I assume?

[ooc: No problem. I'm good with backtagging, I'm probably going to bed myself sometime soon.]

[ ... ]

I think you have most of them, but there was one in the middle of March that made people betray their friends... I wasn't affected, but a friend of mine was a victim of it.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Do you happen to recall the date more precisely?

Maybe... around the fourteenth? It was about a week after I arrived...

Why does an exact date matter?

Alright.

The more specific the data, the more specific conclusions can be inferred from it. In this case, I can attempt to isolate more definite patterns concerning the variation in the severity and scale of the curses than I could without exact dates, for example.

How many other curses would you like to know about?

I'm trying to gather more of the March curses, mainly. I shouldn't except people to have exact memories about the older curses, unless maybe the ones they've experienced themselves. However, if you have other information pertinent to the curses in general or specific knowledge of past curses, I'd of course be interested to hear them as well.

I suppose the question ought to be 'how much do you want to know?' As of tomorrow, I will have been here for three years and I've kept records of most--though not all--of the curses that have struck the City in that time.

Three years, really? That's a horribly long time to be stuck here. Have you gleaned any insights out of your records? Surely three years worth of data would be enough to comprise various studies.

Others before you have attempted to do the same.

Attempted implies there was no success.

It's little more than an exercise in futility.

Be that as it may, it'll keep me occupied. I have little else but time on my hands, here.

no worries! bonescientist May 3 2010, 17:24:27 UTC
Perhaps I should delegate this task over to you, then.

The hacking is for a greater good, but who's asked you to draw ponies? That sounds like a waste of work hours for recreational activities.
