[Brennan offers no resistance as Angela fiddles with the laptop, her shoulders dropping at the frustration in Angela's tone. The particular pitch is enough to finally break through the fog in Brennan's head somewhat. Warily, she prompts Angela.]

Oh.
[Brennan bites her lip anxiously. She doesn't care about her own reputation, but she does care about Angela's. This isn't Ange's fault, but she's the one feeling the consequences. God, what the hell was she thinking? Curse or no, she should have been able to exercise self-control. She always has self-control, why not now?]
I'm sure nobody is going to take it seriously, Angela. It's just... a ridiculous, purple story written by a socially inept, emotionally challenged person on a curse day.
[The words come out wan and unconvincing. As it is, curses aren't easy to shake off: in the back of Brennan's mind, the idea of a sequel is still nagging away at her. Damn it.]

[Brennan's eyes flicker down to the laptop and she almost groans. Are you kidding me? Her fingers are itching for the keyboard. Disgusted with herself, she quickly grabs the small computer, holding it aloft in one hand towards Angela.]
Could you... could you please take this with you?
[Goodness knows she's in no position to ask Angela for favors, but one can try. After a second, Brennan grabs her network device that lies on the bed as well in her free hand and places it on the laptop.]

...Thanks.
[Brennan speaks quietly and nods, again offering no protest when Angela grabs her phone, too. She doesn't really know what else to say, she keeps silent. The shame that's starting to creep in will be nothing compared to how she'll be feeling the moment the clock strikes midnight.
But for now, she'll be too busy trying to contain herself from writing more awfulness about her fellow citizens and/or other people she knows. Perhaps Ange should confiscate her notepads as well - but at least she can't publish those on the Network.]
