I'm looking forward to seeing the dynamic between Sweets and this agent, though would like a copy of the memo when Sweets became an agent himself?? Or Booth's partner? LOLZ

BTW TT are you iconing the washing machine scene?

Thought of him in charge of a gun is scary!

Rest assured I shall be! Hoping to make some icons tomorrow :)

Well, I kind of like the idea of Sweets becoming a full fledged agent. Lots of field agents in the FBI don't necessarily come from a law enforcement background. Some are lawyers, accountants, doctors, and psychologists. In fact, maybe they should just make him an agent and give him his own partner. That would give Sweets some interesting new storylines and take care of the problem that some people seem to have with him being Booth's "partner", I guess.

That's very true - Fox Mulder had a background in psych ;)

I was interested to read what you said elsewhere here that he would be considered an agent anyway, working for the FBI.

I don't usually have a problem with Show making Sweets Booth's partner that was just my reaction to the notion here that he's left twiddling his thumbs because Booth has a lot of paperwork. LOL!

Ah yes, let us not forget the most famous psychologist turned FBI agent. ;)

Yes, if you work for any of the Federal law enforcing branches of the U.S. gov't. you are an "agent". People who work for the State Department, NSA, Homeland Security, INS, FBI, CIA, ATF, DEA, etc. are all referred to as Agents. I imagine that Sweets is just usually called Dr. Sweets, because in the U.S. any titles conferred to you by academic degree take precedence over just about everything else. Actual Investigators like Booth, are called "special agents" because they have the power to make arrests and investigate the violation of federal laws. But even the FBI lab geeks (the ones that actually work for the FBI, not consultants or people contracted to the FBI) are considered to be FBI agents.

...just my reaction to the notion here that he's left twiddling his thumbs because Booth has a lot of paperwork.I'll admit I don't know what that's about. I mean they don't really need to bench Booth to send Sweets somewhere. Maybe it serves some other plot point as ( ... )

Can never forget my first Feeb-love ;)

Ah so it's the 'Special' that is the distinction. No wonder Booth always makes such a big thing out of it ;) (ETA: Am now having one of those 'or is that in fic?' moments!)

I mean they don't really need to bench Booth to send Sweets somewhere.

This is really my point, yes. I'd really like it to work that way actually - like what does Sweets do when not consulting on BB's cases. That's interesting and expands his role.

Oh no apology needed! This comm is supposed to steer clear of bashing, so when it gets too much for people am glad that members feel able to say so :)

Ooh could be! I wonder when the other bonus eps will fall. I am so looking forward to that moment!

Wow, Booth only got his demotion revoked last episode, and now he's already getting a promotion? (I know this is one of the bonus episodes, but that made me grin.)

Serious question though, didn't they say in the premiere that Booth is already in charge of his department? So what would be next?

Also, now that ED is working full hours again, I really hope we're done with Sweets as Booth's partner in the field - it doesn't even have anything to do with how I feel about Sweets, but she is Booth's partner, and that's what I want to see too!

Hee! Good point. And who knows re: what kind of promotion. Smacks of one of those things that HH & Co make up to fit with their plan for an ep. Doubt we'll hear about it again!

Yes, I don't think so either - but then, they've never been really clear on Booth's actual position anyway, have they?

No. I don't know a lot about the FBI rankings, but it seems he is in charge of Major Crimes.. SA In Charge?? But then I can't imagine he'd have the time to run about with Brennan on individual cases so I don't know. I suppose it's one of those things where they hope people don't look too closely!
