I'm really sorry I'm a bit late on this (though I suppose for those of you in the US I'm not really that late, phew). Anyway, for Love Month I've written a fic. I started this after The Hole in the Heart and it was going to be my take on what happened during That Scene, but then The Change in the Game came along and canon totally killed my idea. I like this a lot, and this line really stood out to me:

he tries not to think about how grateful he is that it was Vincent, not her, who answered the phone

It's just so very like Booth to be glad that Brenann is safe, and yet to feel guilty about being glad at the same time, especially since I'm pretty sure that he does feel at least partly responsible for Vincent's death (even if he told Brennan he didn't). Great insight!

Thanks for this lovely insight into Booth's thoughts in what was truuy a pivotal scene for these two. Happy Love Month (even though I'm so behind its officialy Sextember now - LOL!)!! :)
