It did bother me that they left the eggs thing there with the end of the chapter and no revisiting. Thanks for filling in the blanks. It's my head canon now.

As for Owen, I feel like the parallels between him and Angel are somewhat tenuous, but maybe not entirely inconsequential (since they do in some ways resemble each other, with the bookishness and the broodyness). I think what makes Buffy initially so excited about him doesn't really have to do with Angel though; it more just stems from the fact that she's happy to feel and be treated like a normal person again (to be admired rather than feared or cut off). That's my head-canon though.
