In case anyone is checking here for updates on s1, just wanted to make a post to say that I want to put the fic on a brief two week hiatus so that I can have a little breathing time to beat an entirely different fic into submission, to maybe give myself the chance to get a little ahead of my posts for Buffy, and to dig myself out of the homework

I've just gotten my internet access back and haven't had a chance to resume my re-reading habits! Thank you for the update! I actually do appreciate it when authors let us know they are not dead.

That screencap - OH BUFFY. I love that episode so much because it is SO FUNNY and yet it is SO DAMN DARK and icky at the same time. Sarah is just first-rate all the way through it.

Glad you appreciated the update. Sometimes I feel like I leave too many author's notes.

And I love that screencap. It was one of the first I ever took because I thought it was hilarious, and maybe just a little metaphorically resonant (then again, I read into everything...).

I like your notes! I guess it depends on the author and on the story in question? I have a tendency to want to "explain" things. And I enjoy author's metas on their own stories - I'd never seen a fanfiction author's commentary track until I got into Buffy fandom (I think beer_good_foamy's were the first I read.)

But maybe that's why I mostly write nonfiction anyway.

And I love that screencap.

In my photobucket I have WAY too many screencaps from that episode saved, pretty much all of them of Buffy. (I am obsessed, yes.) I made some icons from it before the fire, but I think I only ended up liking one, which I haven't posted yet - Buffy pulling the cork off the tequila bottle.

I did try to make a screencap of the scene here, with the mummy hand, but I don't have sophisticated editing suite (Photoshop) and I was never happy with the results.

Photoshop is nice, but I honestly thought GIMP was great for photo editing. I only switched to Photoshop when I became more familiar with it from doing digital painting. I assume you use GIMP?

And, yeah, I love author commentary. I feel like my metas are basically just writer's commentary without the audio, or, I'd like them to be, but I held back the impulse to go over all the little details...
