LOL 'upcome' *sniggers and bes five*

endalia asked me if I'd posted a birthday list, and I realised a) I hadn't really thought about it and b) no. xD I guess being dirt poor and god, I AM going to go there, in love has meant I haven't really been looking at purchasing anything or looking around at MOAR STUFF ( Read more... )

birthday, wish list

i also entertain dreams of being a Stepford wife/Martha Stewart, and have a recipe book/"housebook". I took a big giant binder, and some plastic filler sheets from the stationary or office supply store. i either write out recipes by hand and make them all prettiful with colored pencils and doodles and such, or i paste the recipe cards onto paper and then slip it into the plastic.

the best part is that the binder and filler paper are both really cheap, and if you fill it up you can start another one. i also like to put in "tips" about house-cleaning or wrapping gifts, and my favorite book quotes. one day i want to give it to my daughter.

plus, i feel like the housebook is more cutesy, since you can put your own personal touch on it, instead of a ready-made recipe book. :) haha sorry if i rambled on, it's been my project lately haha.

That IS a really lovely idea, LOVE the heirloom aspect of your plan too.

I'm not too big a fan of the plastic sleeves, but you're totally right that they make sense -- you can get stuff all over them and they will wipe clean. Although I am a little partial to the whole "the best recipes are the ones with the most spatter on them" theory. xD

I just bought that Kikki.K recipe book here in a store in QLD. The chicken tab would very easily come out. And it's GORGEOUS and amazing quality. :D

I looked at them briefly when we were in Melbourne back in April. But we were at Chaddy and looking for clothes for Greg so I didn't get a GOOD good look.

YAY QUALITY! :D

how much fabric do you need for curtains? <3

I am TOTES UNSURE! But considering we have two single sheets up there, I'm guessing THOSE dimensions xD

So a minimum of three 60"x90" (approx 1.5mx2.3m) fabric lengths - more if we're mixing it up a bit with cute alternative fabrics/top valance things or something? xD

The curtain rail that's above the bed currently has started to be REALLY creepy bent. Greg and I actually got out of bed this morning at 3am and move the bed away from the wall cause Greg was stressed out that he was going to wake up to me being dead from curtain rod impalement in the night.

Funny thing is I'm SO used to the bed being by the wall now that this morning when I stuck a toe out to touch it, and it WASN'T THERE, I thought I was going to fall out of bed and muffled-ie screamed. xD xD

LOL! I've seen that before, and I love the illustrations, but I actually REALLY dislike the Great Gatsby! xD

Its like, no one is likable, they all go and do dumb things, no one communicates, then they die. Its Romeo and Juliet all over again, with less star crossing and more passive observers. xD xD

yes but romeo and Juliet didn't have a hit n' run..... although i'm sure theirs a 'modern' interpretation in which the whole benevollo thing is done as drive-by
