Vatel is visually gorgeous, one could even say stimulating. The costumes are amazing, the sets and props and production values are sumptuously divine. The story is a little standard.. But its got some good twists on the usual tale -- a man being fought over by men for his amazing talent instead of a woman, although they have that too, etc. XD

Oh and death, doom and destruction in the form of pretties. Thats always cool XD
