you reminded me I never did finish Valis, up to page 96 when reading group books intervened. Must finish the rest. Will take it swimming today.

Austin Public Library near me had complete short stories and read those last summer.

books are piling up, summer is shrinking down.

Have you read UBIK? That is probably one of my most favorites of his. It's more coherent than Valis. Valis was good if you had a lot of concentration and were able to look past his fractured chapters. Also, A Scanner Darkly was very good.
