It's a relatively new name in the trendy babyname universe.
At least it's not Hannah. That one is just as stale as Ethan.
What's even worse is the number of families with a son named Ethan and a daughter named Hannah.

my name was the most popular of the year i was born. my parents thought it was an interesting and unique name. C's parents gave him and his brother the top two boy names of the decade using a similar assumption - they didn't know a bunch of adults with that name...

We really tried to be original without being over-the-top.

Now those names have gained in popularity. No longer can I holler out their names at the playground and only get three little girls running to my side.
