I have come to understand my emotional unbalance latly, a great majority being caused by one of my jobs. And although I can quit at any time, or at least that is what we see as a normal job situation. But what if the person you're working for has known you since you were eight and might be very offended if I don't continue to work for her? Well, ( Read more... )

Tricky situation. The one thing that you have to remember is, she may be very close to you, she may be very cool, but for the moment she is still your employer. If you need to quit, just make sure to stress that it's not a personal problem but rather an issue of time and sanity. Any employer, especially one who knows you outside of work and cares for you (as I assume she does) would be happy to relinquish your employment for the sake of your well being. Heck, blame theatre. Tell her that it is impossible to do everything you need to do for your education and still work for her...it won't be that far from the truth. Tell her that you'd be happy to work for her at some other time (you set the conditions of your employment and be prepared to compromise just a bit-not everything!) The important thing is that you're content with everything you're doing.
