Working My Way Back To YouNo characters were harmed in the making of this fic. They do not belong to me, but are the property of Fox Entertainment and Mutant Enemy

Wheeeee!!! I was so worried in the middle there - it wasn't like I could be sure you wouldn't decide to throw it all in and have a weird, twisted Spike/Buffyllyria relationship to end the story. (Though it might have been slightly out of place. And it might still happen, I suppose.) Now, as long as Spike's OK and Buffy kills everything...!
If Illyria had even existed when I started this, I might have been tempted, but after stringing people along for eight years, it might be a bit unfair now.
well, that was a surprise, the chap;) and the content and I admit I grinned at the incongruity of 'Gathering all those new vessels together in Milton Keynes, each one just waiting to be filled'
Just found your story and read it on AO3, but can't figure out how to comment there, SO just wanted to tell you how truly outstanding it is! For one thing, it is so gothic and SCARY, I don't really get scared or creeped out very easily but the way you build up to the creepy encounters with ghost and the undead - WOW. Your descriptions are very detailed and really invoke a mood, I am able to picture the scenes you depict much more easily and fully than with most fic I read. As a huge B/S shipper I am really loving the realistic relationship you are portraying here, slow build up, great payoff with the eventual intimacy. Great Job all around. Thank you for many hours of pure enjoyment, I look forward to what's next! (can I friend you so i can keep up with future installments?)
Thank you so much for making the effort to find me here, of course you can friend me. There's not too much to go now, so I hope that won;t take too long. I apoligise in advance, I am a very slow writer who has seen too many Hammer type horror films.
I'm very glad the story has worked for you. I have a confession: I've never read the story as a whole myself, so it's great news to know it all makes sense (so far, now I'm near the end, I just hope everyone buys my resolution!). I know there are a few mistakes, it will be nice to go back when I'm done and fix them.
Well, you should read it as a whole - it is a wonderful piece of writing, you should be very proud. I have not noticed any errors or gaps in continuity, (but I will freely admit am not especially critical of such things) :)
Thanks.I suspect I might have repeated myself a bit. I do know that I described the Cotwolds all wrong and that I lost track of the days somewhere. I'd also like to rewrite the first chapter to make it a bit more dynamic. I've learnt a lot about writing since I wrote that!
I'll read it one day, right now it's far more important to finish it!
I just read everything to date on the pdf and I am hoping there will be more to come, even though it's been a while since an update? I agree with whatjennylayne had to say about the lovely sense of intimacy between Buffy and Spike.

This one was pretty much written last year, but I have added 1300 words to it in the last week, so that's still good going for me!

I fear there is only one novel in me and it's this one.

I am still working on the story, but I confess I'm struggling a bit with the next chapter which I just can't seem to get right.

I'm shamelessly pimping the first BtVS fanfic I wrote today, btw.
