[A: Anyone on Albright Lane]
[The first thing that struck Alphonse when he woke that morning was... well, that he was waking up at all. This wasn't the blacking out of his body tugging on his soul from the other side of the portal, this was genuine human waking and he had missed it so much. Just for a single moment, before awareness came rushing

Mm, it's me, Brother.

Where are you? I'll come meet you.

Maybe I better come to you, Brother.

... That's not really a good idea. Why can't you just tell me where you are?

Brother, I'm... I'm with Mom.

Meet me at the corner of Albright if five minutes and we can go talk somewhere else.

[He feels so much better for having a plan and for being able to see Ed. Though... he hesitates before ringing off.]
Brother, there's something...
[No, he can't say it when Mom might overhear. Ed will just have to be surprised Al has his body back.]
...never mind, I'll see you there in a minute.

It feels almost strange to look at Ed from this angle, his brother seeming taller by comparison to how he had seemed from the height of the armoured body. He feels unaccountably nervous... this is what they've worked towards for years, and now...]
Brother...

He heard his voice and his heart just about stopped. It... it was so clear, completely void of the metallic edge he had grown so used to hearing. For one brief moment, Ed wondered if he was dreaming. He only heard Al's voice like this when he was asleep and stomach started twisting itself into knots, suddenly afraid that he was going to turn around and no one would be there, or Al would still be in armor, or... or... he would just wake up ( ... )

He could feel. The chill in the air, the way the sunlight glancing off someone's window shone in his eyes and made them sting, the way his heart was thudding so hard in his chest that surely it would be audible to anyone listening.
Yet amongst the nerves and overwhelming confusion of being here, there was a wriggle of joy he couldn't deny. With Ed there beside him, and his body back... this was a dream come true. Without further ado, he bridged the gap between them and wrapped Ed in a tight embrace.]
BROTHER!

Thankfully, Al took that first step and suddenly his arms were wrapped tightly around him and... and he's so warm. His arms aren't made of hard, cold metal, his body isn't just a hollow shell. It's real -- flesh and blood, muscles and bones and veins and ligaments and joints and Ed doesn't bother tying to keep himself calm anymore. His lip trembles, his body shakes and his heart pounds so hard he can hear his own pulse. More importantly, he could feel Al's pulse. He returns the hug twofold, pulling his brother into a tight hug. His voice cracks and already he's staining Al's shirt with tears, but he doesn't care. He's grinning despite it all. This is his little brother and he gives no fucks.]
ALPHONSE!

He had forgotten just what Brother's scent was in the last years, and yet it all came back to him in a rush of assorted junk food and sweat, though there was the new added tinge of automail grease too.
His head lowers to rest against another blonde head of hair, bending slightly to put them more on the same level.]
You... I can feel your heartbeat, Brother.

[He's pretty sure his heart just burst and before he knows it, he's laughing. For once it's not bitter, or sad, or sarcastic. It's real, it's relieved, it's... hopeful and happy. Ed's face feels like it's about to crack, but his grin just gets wider. His voice still shakes, but there's a softness to it that wasn't there before, hasn't been there for a long, long time.]
It's good to see you again.

[The smile (haha, he can SMILE) that spreads across his lips is nothing short of beatific, happiness swelling in his chest where it had only been a spark before.
His voice is awed when he speaks again, almost reverent of the sensations that were finally his again.]
...it's so cold. I forgot what shivering felt like.
