See, that's just it. You know it won't turn out well, but just for this one moment, you're at peace with that, because they're at peace. It's like the cliche calm before the storm, when you know in ten minutes there'll be thunder and lightning and floods of rain... but just right now, it's like the whole world is just enjoying BEING. That's what Ed's doing in this fic, I think.

This is just tons of d'awwww. It's nice to see this oasis of peace, it's such a contrast to how Ed usually is, caught up in his job ALL THE TIME. Talking ALL THE TIME. And here's this little moment of silence just between the two of them. It's lovely.

Because in headcanon Ed thinks Roger is wonderful, and in the movie he's just so desperate to get him back, but he's not WORTHY~ and yeah.
