I wouldn't have believed that the media would be able to go on so endlessly about the R-o-y-a-l- W-e-d-d-i-n-g. They seem to be able to bring it into anything - football reports, weather forecasts, Dow-Jones index - whatever. I'm being forced to hit the mute button about every fourth word.

Roll on Saturday!

LOL. Sounds maddening.

It's on Saturday, then? I hope everything goes safely.

No - it's on Friday.

The pageantry is nice - the horses and the plumed helmets and such, but they really don't need to talk about it all so much.

God, at least it's taking place in your country, for your royalty. I'm in the US and you would think there was never a revolutionary war. The entire morning new is nothing but wedding news. On all three broadcast channels. It is constant. Right now, for example, I am hearing how Pippa has installed disco balls in the palace ballroom 'raising the eyebrows of palace staff.'

Whatever.

I'm with you. Come on Saturday!

ETA: However, I am enjoying hearing the British slang that I didn't know before, like 'knees up.' As a language teacher, that is amusing.

The good old classic song:

Knees up Mother Brown
Knees up Mother Brown
Under the table you must go
Ee-aye, Ee-aye, Ee-aye-oh
If I catch you bending
I'll saw your legs right off
Knees up, knees up
Never get the breeze up
Knees up Mother Brown.

They were saying the other morning - before I muted the TV - that Buckingham Palace is turning the lights off at half-past-midnight and lots of the foreign 'news' media are quite miffed, because it'll spoil their live reporting.

Countdown to Saturday.

Sick of it here too, Bodkin. Considering how it's taken over "news" in this country, I can't imagine what it's like there!

Every time I un-mute the TV, somebody is wittering on about how wonderful Kate is, or how exciting the wedding is, or the Dress, or ... some such garbage or other. Oh for the days when the BBC thought it was too intrusive to take pictures of such a personal event!

I did get a kick out of watching historical footage of other 'recent' royal weddings. I forgot there was a Princess Margaret. And, if I missed anything, I can watch it over and over and over again on TLC (cable station) LOL.

I like the ceremony and pageantry - and the grey horses holding back the crowds and the postilions and stuff like that ... but they really don't have to talk about it so much! Just show it tomorrow. That'll be enough for any sane individual.

Princess Margaret - now she (apparently - it's hardly as if I knew her) like to think of herself as a bit dangerous and bohemian ... just as long as all her fellow bohemians remembered to call her Ma'am and curtsey to her regalness.

And yes - over and over and over again.
