My Husband Died Sunday

Are there any chants/prayers in English that you know of? I will be having a remembrance party for him May 3rd and would like to have a few to read on that day.

Also if you know of any websites dealing with rituals for the family please let me know.

Thank you.

I am sorry for your loss.

This page might help. I like the quote from Ringu Tulku in document #6: "The best prayers are the ones you usually do and at the end, dedicate them to the deceased." You can never go wrong by reading the Great Heart of Wisdom Sutra, either. There are lots of good versions in English.

I hope this helps you.

I'm very sorry to hear that.
My Lama told me that to do Chenrezig practice for the 49 days of Bhardo was good.

That is what I am planning to do once I read up on it more. There will be a lot of people coming that are not Buddhists so when I read a chant or prayer I wanted them to understand what I am saying.

Thank you so much for your suggestion.

Thank you very much. It was extremely difficult to deal with in the beginning. It still is hard to deal with. Now that I have time to practice again it's really helping me a lot as do all the well wishes.

is The Aspiration of Samantabhadra. It is a long prayer that is recited after the passing of a loved one.
